2005 Hickory Creek Folk Art & Music Festival and Boat Show -
Regional Bluegrass and Texas Roots Music at its Best
If you are a music or festival lover, join the 3rd Annual Hickory Creek Folk Art & Music Festival on Saturday, June 11, 2005 from 11am-8:30pm. Hosted by Hickory Creek Parks and Recreation, the festival will feature top Bluegrass and Texas Roots Music along with children’s entertainment and arts and crafts. Players of all skill levels are invited to bring their instruments and enjoy workshops for guitar, fiddle, mandolin, bass and harp at the Picker’s Pavilion. Get your instruments tuned up and your ears turned on for the jam sessions held between workshops. A variety of art exhibitors, traditional craftsmen and food vendors will also be on the festival grounds arranged under the shade of oak trees at Arrowhead Park on Lake Lewisville. With the lake serving as the backdrop of the main stage, entertainment will include the Alma Squillante, The New Hokem Boys, The Crucigers, Texas Trailhands, Salt Creek, and the Patty Mitchell Band. Children’s entertainment includes Jessie from Toy Story 2, Lollipop Palooza, Mike Cruciger, Nation’s Gymnastics circus act, a bounce house, a puppet show, Adventure Kids Playcare arts and crafts, a Home Depot children's workshop, balloon caricatures and more. A community stage will feature local entertainment including the Middle Eastern Dancers, Henna, Dancin’ Feet, TCOC Worship Band, and Amy Lepard. Boaters, you can dock at the festival grounds and join the fun! Don’t for get to register to win one of our great raffle prizes including a helicopter ride on the Marine Quest helicopter!
This year a boat show will be included, featuring some of the best boats and personal water craft in North Texas.
